Free MMORPG's A Plague?

Hm.

You like me, have probably noticed a overwhelming number of Free MMO's over the past couple of years. some good, some utter shit.

The question at hand is, why are company's making MMO's that use the same Hotkey formula thats been used for over 3/4 a decade if not more. Why cant some of these companies get there creative juices flowing? are they scared of innovation? or do they think that if they split from what everyone is used to they will make alot of core gamers mad?

My point being that some of us is sick of the old hotkey method, and generic MMO feel, DC Universe was a breathe of fresh air! DC still used a little bit of hotkeys but it felts entirely new for MMOs. but DC wasnt free.

Im tired of the same old song and dance.....are you?

Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds Review

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
A Lust to Dust Review.
Developer: Capcom
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Genre: Fighting
Modes: Single Player, Multiplayer
ESRB: T

Yeah? I know, your like, wait, CJ is doing a video game review? INSANE! yeah i know. but ive played enough of the game to justify a nice opinion about it.

Graphics -
MvC3 offers a nice style of graphics, and it works, seeing the game go to 3D is a real treat, sometimes making a jump to 3D is a good thing, and with Marvel its just that, a good thing. very polished also, and amazing visual when the character do their hyper combos.

Stole that guy's PIZZA!

Sound -
I love the music tracks in this game, really unique, and very epic when your character jumps in after the character before it goes down, which means there theme song starts playing. i also enjoy the voice acting. that is if you dont mind hearing the character call out there move every time the player inputs the command. and Deadpool makes the game a hoot, with very good voice acting and humor. so the sound overall is very very good!

Gameplay -
THe gameplay of the game is what you expect out of a Marvel Vs Capcom game, which is fast paced fighting action. the game has a entirely new control system from there previous title MvC2, and its fairly easy to pick up the new fighting system. The game feels like it should and plays like it should. I found myself having troubles switching out characters when i first started playing. that is no longer a issue. i also discovered that air combos in this game is extremely more easy than that of MvC2, there is a sense of balance in the game, but as your playing and something funky happens youll think other wise. but if you think about it really is balanced, perhaps Wolverine is faster than Captain Americas Charing Star? or vice versa? it really depends on the character. the game features a Arcade mode as it should, the arcade mode is the basic style of Marvel where you go through various stages fighting your way to the final boss. The game also has a mission mode to polish up your combos and skills. and DUH a versus mode and training mode. The game features a online mode with which ever service you have, there you can fight your friends or take on strangers in ranked matches or player matches. the online mode also features Event mode with has you completing challenges to earn extra rewards, a example would be "Use all capcom characters and win 10 matches" or something of that song and dance. to quote a very good friend of mine, its kinda sucks that you can only activate one event at a time, when you can actually end up completing 3 or 4 events in one match.

Overall -
This game is a instant hit, and is a very good fighter, i would highly recommend this game to anyone who loves fighting games.

I give this game 5 ARRRRRRRNOLDS out of 5

Cronex: The First Caster

Cronex: The First Caster is a RPG Maker VX ideas i have buzzing in my brain and i want to lay out the story of this game in public.

The Setting and various other ideas: (Note: The game is NOT sci fi)
You play as Cronex, the first born Caster of Quadton, Quadton being the planet your on. YOu have no mother or father, you were created by the high council of seekers. The council governs the planet with mass power and strict laws. The Council created you as a experiment (Magic Ritual) for more casters to follow and eventually breed amongst each other. The Reason for your creation is that a cult of renagrades have risen in various towns rebeling against the high council of seekers. You are basically the chosen one that they created to "seek" out the members of this cult and cut them off. Since the council plans on having more casters created they make them with the elements of the planet. Your element is fire, therefore, you are the very first fire caster of quadton.

Gameplay:
Im going to stick to something simple, the default battle system on RPG Maker VX is like a FF Rip Off, not really my cup of tea, but at least its simple.

Music:
The game will include alot of music from newgrounds i find, and the boss music will include artists like, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Children of Bodom, and many more.

I am only making this game because alot of you asked for this when i posted on fb about a possiable game i could make, expect a demo soon, and the full game perhaps late summer.

CJ's Standing with his very many different Hobbies.

As you guys are probably well aware is that im a very busy person, i do alot of stuff with friends, my girlfriend, school and family, that i drop alot of stuff i used to do very frequently. here is a list of things that i am still doing and things i have droped for your viewing pleasure.

World of Warcraft
Status: Dropped
Ahhh WoW, the never ending time waster of my teenage life, from burning crusade all the way to cata, this game always seemed to pop back up in my life somehow. well guys i played a little bit of cata with the new races and content, played it for a good 3 or 4 months and decided that its time for something new. ive been playing this addicting game for a very long time and to me its the same old song and dance. therefore, i have dropped World of Warcraft from my hobbies and Game Rotation.
(side note: Thank you for the christmas present Morgan! even though im dropping this game i still would like to thank you for your kindness when i was to buy cata)

Magic: The Gathering
Status: Occasional
The card game of card games, this little gem was with me for a bit of time too, i started playing when zendikar dropped and i was hooked since, sadly my interest dropped when Scar dropped, but im happy to say i have not completely dumped Magic off the face of my world, and im glad to say ill play in a lot more FREE tournaments and casual play.

Sonic The Hedgehog
Status: THE REST OF MY LIFE
Do i really need to write about this?

Free to Play MMO's
Status: Strong Interest
I play and try alot of free games out there on the internet, such as Runes of Magic, or Vindictus. i play these cause alot of them have good ideas in terms of gameplay. most of the ones i play are very good and some of them are complete crap, but you take what you can get.

The Creation of Video Games
Status: Interest, If people cared.
I like making small little games, but what keeps me from creating most of them or keep working at it is that i think a lot of people wouldn't care about it and not play it.

Blogging
Status: Indifferent
There isn't very many people that read this blog other than Jon, Torio, and Marissa. so i don't really blog all that much about stuff that interests me. so im mainly writing to 3 people, which is reason enough to keep going. thank you guys for reading my worthless thoughts =P

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Status: Active
I have play JKA for a very long time, 6 years if im not mistaken. and i belong to a clan in the JKA community, one of the best ones. so i like to get on it every now and then and own a few people with my lightsaber.

Second Life
Status: Dropped
I recommend if you have a soul don't ever try this pathetic excuse for a video game. all it will do is cause you trouble and despair.

Anime
Status: Dropped Tentatively
I used to watch some of the popular animes that came on toonami when i was little, but now that im almost 20 i have lost most of my interest in anime, i still watch some of it, but thats only when im bored. i dont even watch the Japanese dubs of Sonic X anymore.

RTS (Real Time Strategy Games)
Status: Occasional
I love a good RTS game every now and then, Age 2, Starcraft, Warcraft III, Total War. all these games make me very happy, and sometimes its nice to sit back and watch 100 soldiers die to your 3000 mega army!

Wrestling
Status: Strong Interest/Active
I have watched wrestling ever since i was little boy, cheering for my favorite wrestler of all time, the one and only Undertaker! I love everything about the sport. from video games to the shows, to the PPVs and DVDs. everything about WWE and WCW will and always be a treasured memory in my life.

Minecraft
Status: HUGE interest/VERY active
Right now this game is the bread and butter of my PC games interests, the games free form gameplay and excellent building makes it one of the funnest games youll ever play (next to sonic) i highly recommend buying a copy of it while its in beta.

HIM (Music)
Status: Occasional
This used to be my favorite band of all time, i still listen to them, its just....

Opeth (Music)
Status: Gods gift to music
i found Opeth >.> sorry HIM

there maybe a part 2 to this but i dont know.

The never ending war on Sonic.

Sonic The Hedgehog has been around for nearly 20 years....
it almost seems like im the only one who cares about the blue blur anymore, everyone else is complaineing about the old sonic and the new sonic and its really starting to make me very angry. then there is the people who say that Sonic is dead? ooohhh yeah....sonic is dead mhm you bet buddy....NO HE IS NOT. if sonic is dead than so is Mario, Zelda, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, and so many more.
The thing you have to remember being a loyal sonic fan is learn to take crap from EVERYONE else. i started this saying. Im a sonic fan therefore i must really love crappy games. Which isnt true. with all due respect i think that final fantasy is a load of crap.

People ask me why do i hate final fantasy? i say because i dont like the gameplay or the long and useless cutsecenes, but how often do you hear someone hating on final fantasy? thats what i thought. so the same can be said for poeple who dont like Sonic games, and i understand that compeletely, but what stirkes me is when people are being biased and onesided when it comes to games. this entire blog is honestly my opinion that everyone is entitled to, but when you cant back up your opinion like most Sonic Haters cant, then your opinion doesnt matter.

I have been a sonic fan all my life, 20 years. and there is nothing you can say to me to make me think that SOnic Unleashed and Sonic Colors were bad games, so if you have nothing nice to say about Sonic then SHUT THE FUCK UP around me and talk about something else.

R.I.P Guitar Hero

I read an article today about the end of Guitar Hero, mixed emotions ran through my mind as i thought to myself.....Activision! Thats the reason why i hated the new Guiter Hero games, Activision and Neversoft milked the hell outta the series, leaving no room for anything new while rock band 3 packed in as much innovation as it could.

The poor fan boys of the new guitar hero are crying right now as the article said that many lay offs happened within the company. half of the lose of guitar hero saddens me, the other half is saying YES! LONG LIVE ROCK BAND! i have very strong feeling and opinions on the outcome of Harmonix, and the reborn Guitar Hero Neversoft developed.

Harmonix created the very first Guitar Hero game. The game came out for the PlayStation 2 on November 8, 2005. and since then the Guitar Hero generation was born, competitive gameplay, relive old songs, and your 60 yr old dad rocking out to Bark at the Moon soon took its hole in almost every living room in America as the guitar hero craze started. wasnt too long before a sequel surfaced. and had even more features to grab ahold of you, such as co op play, and a larger more expansive list of songs.

that soon faltered when Harmonix dropped the Guitar Hero series on Neversofts and Activisions lap. Guitar Hero 3 was created. and from there, it went down hill. soon after the release of World Tour i started seeing how the content and gameplay compared to the old guitar hero. it was like Neversoft purposely made the game harder and more ridiculous by the day.

i soon grew sick of guitar hero and placed my attention to Harmonix's new creation Rock Band. i loved the innovation and the near endless amount of music you can buy at there store. alot of my favorite artist was inculded in the DLC store for expanding the already hefty setlist.

By the time Rock Band 3 was announced with so many new innovations a features to make your head explode. i looked in disgust as Activision ruined the good name of Guitar Hero with Warriors of Rock (Mighty Morhin Guitar Hero Rangers)

So i say, Goodbye Guitar Hero! You were a good little time consumer, have fun with Starcraft Ghost, and all the other discontinued or canceled games!

Lust to Dust, a Reflective of CJ's Life
