The poor fan boys of the new guitar hero are crying right now as the article said that many lay offs happened within the company. half of the lose of guitar hero saddens me, the other half is saying YES! LONG LIVE ROCK BAND! i have very strong feeling and opinions on the outcome of Harmonix, and the reborn Guitar Hero Neversoft developed.
Harmonix created the very first Guitar Hero game. The game came out for the PlayStation 2 on November 8, 2005. and since then the Guitar Hero generation was born, competitive gameplay, relive old songs, and your 60 yr old dad rocking out to Bark at the Moon soon took its hole in almost every living room in America as the guitar hero craze started. wasnt too long before a sequel surfaced. and had even more features to grab ahold of you, such as co op play, and a larger more expansive list of songs.
that soon faltered when Harmonix dropped the Guitar Hero series on Neversofts and Activisions lap. Guitar Hero 3 was created. and from there, it went down hill. soon after the release of World Tour i started seeing how the content and gameplay compared to the old guitar hero. it was like Neversoft purposely made the game harder and more ridiculous by the day.
i soon grew sick of guitar hero and placed my attention to Harmonix's new creation Rock Band. i loved the innovation and the near endless amount of music you can buy at there store. alot of my favorite artist was inculded in the DLC store for expanding the already hefty setlist.
By the time Rock Band 3 was announced with so many new innovations a features to make your head explode. i looked in disgust as Activision ruined the good name of Guitar Hero with Warriors of Rock (Mighty Morhin Guitar Hero Rangers)
So i say, Goodbye Guitar Hero! You were a good little time consumer, have fun with Starcraft Ghost, and all the other discontinued or canceled games!
