Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Hopes and First Impressions

Cue the Opening Music, Masato Nakamaru, Sonic's back and this time he better get it right.

No this isnt a joke, there is going to be a forth installment!

Ok so now the editor wont let me left align, fanf*ckingtastic.....

Anyway back to the matter at hand.
love him or hate him, Sonic is still alive and kicking and this time he seeks to charm the non beilevers with the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1.
Sonic The Hedgehog 4 is set to be released sometime in the summer and will be release to all the major platforms as downloadable content. it will also be relased for a fourth platform but Sega has not released that information.
Hopes:

My hopes for this game is very very strong, Sonic needs something to pull all of the old Sonci fans back and make them love this hyper fast hedgehog once more. my hope is that Sega and Sonic Team have learned there lesson (not to mention any names but....StH2006 >.>) and will actually deliever the Sonic gameplay we all love. Sonic has not had that bad of a run in the Seventh Genereation of gaming but he HAS had some dissappointing titles.

DING! OFF TOPIC BLOGGING!

Sonic has actually had some pretty solid games in the 7th Gen platforms.

  • Sonic Rush
  • Sonic Rush Adventure
  • Sonic Unleashed
  • Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
  • Sonic Rivals 2

ON TOPIC!

Wow, I can left align now yay! but anyway, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 promises to be the way it was back when i was a kid playing S1, S2, S3&K, SCD...etc...etc... and im almost certain that Sega will not dissapoint.

Impressions:

you can call this game 3d or 2d, but, what you get is the classic side scrolling fun that you are very used to. the website has leaked ALOT about the game, and from what i can see is that the game will feature alot of old badniks and classic traps and puzzles. many new things are added as well but will this destroy the classic feel for the game? that is entirly up to the Sonic Team on that part. a perfect balence of new and old stlye of sonic gameplay must be met to make even the whineist Sonic fan boy happy. Myself would like to see something new with the 2d style there trying to bring back. the rush system would be great to have on some levels. but i do admit that i am NOT a fan boy. i can honestly say i can find the good in EVERY sonic game to date, EVEN StH2006 (for there attempt at a story >.>) im esstatic for this game and i can not wait to play it when it is finally released this summer!

A Review of Screamworks, By HIM

"I can't see as I'm facing your pitiful lies
Don't have the strength to carry your heavy load of life"

Ahhh, finally the world of blogging is at my finger tips, and for my first post i would like to introduce the propose of the Blog, and that my friends would be ANYTHING. Video Games, Computers, my own Public Library, anything you can think of more than likely i am going to Blog about it.

As you are well aware this is in fact a blog created by CJ Edwards
I wanted to clear that out of the water so you wont be in the wrong place.
So what should this first Blog be about? I have a idea.

A Review of:
Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice
By: HIM
(Music Review)

HIM, with frontman Ville Valo returns with a new album Screamworks. throughout the life of HIM they have reached achievements most Finnish metal bands wish to have. A very successful band they have become, but is it enough to impress this Heartagrammy? We shall see

Lyrics for this album was basically classic HIM, and that would be the subject of Love. the lyrics impressed mt in the songs Heartkiller, Like St. Valentine, Ode to Solitude, In The Arms of Rain, and a Classic Love/Evil song, Disarm Me. so all in all, nothing new for HIM, perhaps the way Ville yells in some songs would express some emotion of Anger or Joy, but the yelling is a bit......annoying.....
Score:
Lyrics: 8.6/10

Musically the band is almost the same, except i hear more Keys now. its almost Symphonic, but then again its not. In my honest opinion its not metal anymore....its alot more softer than there previous album Venus Doom. Hell, they consider themselves Alternative now. what happened to Love Metal? =/ i am very disappointed in some instances but then again i like the beat and rhythm of alot of the songs, but i miss the old school HIM, the Heavier HIM. I would like to take you back in time, and compare these two songs, i want you to play the first song first and listen to the music, then listen to the second.

See the difference? but hey, change can be a good thing, i dont mind the change in there music, but it IS noticeable.
Score:
Music: 7.2/10

HIM has become, Pop in some ways, they are even having radio time on my local stations, but thats not a bad thing, but it will be a bad thing when they play Heartkiller 14 times a day.

OVERALL:
8.2/10

Its not there best work but hey its something new.
